Correspondence of the White family [manuscript] [1838-1865] 1965.

Most of the letters are from Thomas White to his son Richard White. Thomas sends family news & a few comments on the Pennsylvania and U.S. elections of 1848. There are passes and counter-signs issued to Richard as colonel of the 55th Pennsylvania Volunteers and a Casimir Bohn map of Fort Monroe, Va. The collection also contains a family genealogy mentioning Virginia Tarleton Ralston, fashion expert for the Ladies Home Journal, ca. 1906; clippings regarding the family & Indiana Pa. history including an underground railroad station; and a letter, 1964 December 12 from ReneĢe Bize, Tarbes, France, recounting experiences in World War I.
